Description
EPISODE #15 of #Tarab3arabPodcast with British-Lebanese composer Bushra El-Turk!This episode is in ENGLISH, and Subtitled to Arabic, German, French, and Swedish (captions and settings menu)!!Improvisation Vs. Notation, or rather, what is it that lies between improvisation and notation, that is what Bushra El-Turk is working on non-stop in her work. Stretching the frontiers between cultures, overlapping them, and coming back to their essential traits, Bushra El-Turk has seen amazing success doing that. A graduate of the Guildhall Music School, Bushra has been performed world-wide, from the BBC Proms, The BBC Symphony Orchestra, The London Symphony Orchestra, to being conducted by Sir Simon Rattle himself. Having two operas as well under her belt, the last being Woman at Point Zero, Bushra is quite the prolific composer. This interview was conducted in Paris, at the Salle Gaveau, in a moment of chance and fortune, when Bushra was passing by Paris for a couple of days. Fun, light and full of life, thank you Bushra for this episode. What is Improvisation? Rather, what is Notation? Many questions. That is why we do this podcast.
